For over half a century, the population centers at Wisconsin have been more than just research hubs, they have been a community where groundbreaking careers begin. Many of you remember the pivotal moments of your time here: the late-night data cleaning, the breakthrough at a seminar, or that first trip to the PAA annual meeting where you truly felt like part of the field.
As we look toward the future, we want to ensure today’s students have those same opportunities.
Today, we are launching a new fundraising campaign specifically dedicated to our CDE & CDHA Student Research Support Initiative. While our research remains world-class, the costs associated with becoming a scholar are rising. Traditional grants are essential, but they often don’t cover the “extras” that make a student’s experience complete. Your contributions will go directly toward:
- Student Travel: Funding for conferences to present research and build professional networks.
- Grant Supplements: Bridging the gap for students whose research costs exceed standard fellowship stipends.
- Essential Student Expenses: Supporting emergency needs, specialized software, and data access fees that keep student research moving forward.
